Bayou Chicken Pasta

Try this wonderful chicken pasta! I made it last night for the first time, and it is now on my “go to” list for weekend dinners!
BAYOU CHICKEN PASTA

ORIGINAL SOURCE

– INGREDIENTS –
1 pound linguine
1/4 cup kosher salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1.5lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cubed – (PREP)
2 tablespoons Essence – buy at the store or recipe here
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 cup finely chopped yellow onion– (PREP)
1 tablespoon finely chopped habanero pepper– (PREP)
1 tablespoon minced garlic– (PREP)
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1 cup diced tomatoes– (PREP)
1/2 cup pasta cooking water – (get from unit 1)
1/2 cup chopped green onion tops– (PREP)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves– (PREP)

Once (PREP) Work Marked Above Complete
Time to Cook!

xxxxxxx UNIT 1 – PASTA xxxxxxxx
In large pot, bring water to boil
Add: 1/4 cup kosher salt
Add: 1 pound linguine
Cook al dente – see box noodle came in for time
SCOOP OUT: 1/2 cup pasta cooking water (set aside)
Once noodles are cooked drain, rinse and set aside

xxxxxxx UNIT 2 – CHICKEN xxxxxxxx
In frying pan / wok, over medium high heat
Add: 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Add: 1 tablespoon olive oil
Once butter is melted
Add: 1 1/2 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cubed
Add: 1 tablespoon Essence
Add: 1/2 teaspoons salt
Cook chicken until not pink in middle (Approx. 4 min)
Use: slotted spoon, remove chicken and put it in a bowl
Set chicken aside

xxxxx UNIT 3 – SAUCE / FINISH xxxxx
In same pan/wok as chicken, Over medium high heat
Add: 1 cup finely chopped yellow onion
Add: 1 tablespoon finely chopped habanero pepper
Cook 4 – 5 minutes – until onions lightly carmalized
Add: 1 tablespoon minced garlic
Cook additional 30 seconds
Add: 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
Add: 1 tablespoon Essence
Add: 1 teaspoons salt
Add: Chicken (UNIT 2)
Bring all to a boil and let cook 2-3 minutes

Add: 1 cup diced tomatoes
Add: 1/2 cup pasta cooking water
Add: Cooked pasta (UNIT 1)
Cook additional 2-4 minutes, toss/mix occasionally

Remove from heat
Add: 1/2 cup chopped green onion tops
Add: 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
Add: 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley leaves
Combine All UNITS and toss to coat noodles
